My project is about providing reading materials to children and adults to enhance literacy skills.
The home environment - specifically the availability of reading material - is a stronger predictor of later academic achievement
than socio-economic status. Inability to read is linked to poverty, dependence on welfare, unemployment, and crime.
There s almost a 90% probability that a child will remain a poor reader at the end of the fourth grade, if the child is a
poor reader at the end of the first grade. Schools ranking high in achievement tests have an abundance of books in their public
libraries, easy access to books in the community at large, and a large number of text books per student.
Not all schools and communities have books available to them. I want to help provide books to these
children, stimulate make-believe, encourage education so their dreams can come true. (Read, Educate, and Dream)

To provide an opportunity for children and adults to spend time together through reading.
